Of the top twenty
universities in the UK for Computer Science and IT, Newcastle is the
second most digitally savvy at using online communication channels.
A
study by Virgin Media Business looked at the use of intranets, virtual
tours and a social media presence to attract students, placing Newcastle
University joint second with University College London while the
University of Warwick took first place.
The study outcomes showed British universities understand the need to engage with students using a variety of communications tools, helping staff and students teach and learn together.
It's another boost for the University's online presence. In the summer our Facebook page was named the fourth-best brand in the country in terms of daily engagement rate and the sixth-best for average engagement rate. The analysis was carried out by SocialBakers, a company which monitors and tracks social media.
