Events at ECube

The month of Feb and March, we at ECube had quite a few events happening which kept everyone active.
24th Feb 2011, we had a visit from Dr. John Terry, International Head- Newcastle University (NU), who will play a very important role in settling down students of ECube Global when they fly down to NU for the next academic year. Students’ accommodation and admission to NU will be taken care of by him.

D. Terry interacted with the students and their parents and answered their queries about the accommodation and studies at NU

8th March 2011, A Guest Lecture by Minoo Jokhi –Mathemagician, who discussed wonderful ways to deal with Mathematical problems, which I bet everybody will agree with me, that most of us go through Math anxiety in our student lives.
Usually math anxiety stems from unpleasant experiences in mathematics. Typically math phobics have had math presented in such a fashion that it led to limited understanding. Unfortunately, math anxiety is often due to poor teaching and poor experiences in math which typically leads to math anxiety. Many of the students have encountered with math anxiety have demonstrated an over reliance on procedures in math as opposed to actually understanding the math.
Understanding the math is critical. Once students realize they can do the math, the whole notion of math anxiety can be overcome. Teachers and parents have an important role to ensure students understand the math being presented to them.
So we at ECube Global made an effort to make things easy for our students by conducting a lecture by Minoo Jokhi who introduced some easy ways to understand Math and made it interesting.

11th March 2011, we at ECube Global enjoyed a cricket match towards the end of Term III.
Cricket is one of the most popular and exciting outdoor sports in India. Some of us get the opportunity to play first class cricket, but there are millions who enjoy seeing it being played. It gives us moments of leisure and pleasure and fills us with a competitive spirit.

It was a fine day. We all gathered there to enjoy the match between Team A and Team B. To be a good sports team, one has to be aggressive and this was shown in the final between the two teams. Team B won the toss and decided to bowl first. It was due to their hard hitting that Team B achieved a good start but could set a target of only 21 runs. Students and faculties played a match of 5 over’s, where Team A won the Match by beating Team B.
Team A                                                                                               Team B
Philip(Captain)                                                                             Bhupender(Captain)
