1. * Top marks for Newcastle University lecturers


Newcastle University has sustained its scores in this year's National Student Survey with students showing their appreciation for lecturers' skills and for the overall quality of their courses.

Newcastle University library has once again been recognized as one of the best in the country, understanding the needs of its customers, developing services and providing good levels of customer satisfaction across all areas of service delivery.

3. Professor Paul Younger, Director of the Newcastle Institute for Research on Sustainability, has been made a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). ECube Global College should be introducing Civil Engineering to its set of twining programmes in next academic year.

1.Orientation at EGC


Clearly impressed with the quality of admissions and administration of the college, Professor Oliver Hinton said, ”We are pleased with our association with ECube Global College and are looking forward to receiving their students at the University next year. The college has exceeded our expectations in terms of quality of faculty, facilities, the student body and in governance. Their commitment to deliver a high quality programme to deserving aspirants meets with the objectives of our University and we intend to expand our association with the college.”



2. Term 1Exam dates have been announced.. The students will write their final exams for Term I on the 14 and 15 October. Attendance of a minimum of 80% is mandatory to be able to appear for the exams. Those not succeeding or not meeting the minimum attendance criteria can appear for the re-exam in May 2011.


3. Overnight Picnic to Vapi, Gujarat – Industrial visits and team-building activity is planned for the students as an interactive learning experience. The activity is compulsory for all students. Scheduled for the 21st and 22nd October, the group will be accompanied by Dr. Harris and college personnel.



4. Guest Lectures – Mrs. Anita Shantaram will speak on Interview Skills to the students. Mrs. Anita Shantaram is Director of Grid Consultants Pvt. Ltd., She is the first women to be certified as Grid Instructor in India after successfully completing the course in USA. She holds a post graduate degree in Industrial Psychology from Bombay University. She has attended the Dale Carnegie course "High Impact Presentations" and Steven Covey's Time Management programme "What Matters Most" at Franklin Covey Institute, USA and has undergone "Train the Trainer" programme in Transactional Analysis. 
A faculty member at Sydenham College, Mumbai for (BMS) on Communication skills and Organizational Behavior, she has earlier taught Psychology at Jai Hind College, Mumbai. She has recently started teaching at ICFAI Business School.
